It’s really happening folks! Ayoola Gbolahan and Funmi Iyanda are performing together.

One of Nigeria’s most prolific artists Ayoola Gbolahan will be visiting London for what is bound to be an interesting night. Veteran journalist and art collector Funmi Iyanda will be taking the stage too for an artistic performance.

Titled “In Conversation With My Mother “,  it’s the physical embodiment of a haunting imagined literary piece that is a dialogue between the former Nigerian television host and writer Funmi Iyanda and her mother.

What begins as a dialogue between mother and daughter emerges as a timeless, ageless, and genderless conversation between two humans, each longingly searching for the other, extending their hands through eternity, reaching for love and healing, but mostly, for each other.

This will take place as an artistic performance where dialogue acts as an important bridge to healing.

This show is organised by Oya Media and Kanbi Contemporary in London.

In Conversation With My Mother is a one-night event with performance, music, and spoken word from Lagos based artist, Ayoola Gbolahan.

The event includes an auction sale of Ayoola Gbolahan‘s 2015 painting And Freud Said He Doesn’t Know estimated at £4,000 – £6,500.

This may be the chance to get out of your comfort zone and experience something different. Why not?
