Check Out the Awesome Special Projects at 1-54 Art Fair Marrakech
In case you missed the 1-54 art fair in London this year? Do not panic, another edition is happening very soon! Plan your escape to Morocco this Winter by joining an awesome crew of art enthusiasts, collectors, artists and gallery owners for 1-54 contemporary art fair Marrakech. This is even more exciting because the organisers are lining up some incredible projects in fantastic locations i.e. Yves Saint Laurent Museum.
Well, here’s a list of special projects at the leading international art fair dedicated to contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. The projects, for its second Marrakech edition, will be taking place at La Mamounia, 23 – 24 February 2019, with VIP and Press Previews on 21 and 22 February.
- Renowned American artist Brice Marden’s inaugural solo exhibition in Marrakech at Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech
- New site-specific commission by Beirut-based artist Amine El Gotaibi at Dar Moulay Ali
- Sound installation exploring immigration and post-colonialism by Emeka Ogboh at DADA
- A group show featuring exciting artists working in Africa at Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL)
- Solo exhibition of Saâd Ben Cheffaj, pioneer of the Moroccan modernism school at Salon de Thé, La Mamounia
- Work by five artists from Côte d’Ivoire at Montresso* Art Foundation
- Two exhibitions African Poetries and Hybridizations presented by Comptoir des Mines Galerie
